Tilda Swinton, as always, offers the yin to her own yang in I Am Love, the latest example of her prowess in everything she does. Swinton plays Emma Recchi, a glorified Russian bride now long-settled in her role of noble Italian socialite. Her European mannerisms are perfect, with the expectation of quality and the quest for supreme delight even in the way she walks. All at once, in each second, Swinton gathers herself and Emma into one being and reveals Emma’s preoccupation with image by bravely unraveling it.
